Funny things people send you

Who knew when talk of the Internet first began that some of our most hilarious moments were yet to come?

The quality of humor sent electronically by and to friends has dramatically improved since we all started e-mailing one another – not as good as letters, mind you, but they’re not a bad substitute. And when there’s something funny attached – a cartoon, or joke, or a picture, they come as a pleasant diversion in an otherwise boring or hectic day – a dash of laughter tossed unexpectedly in our lap.

Here’s a recent example – not as good as the one e-mailed here, because there were lots of paintings by the Old Masters interspersed with the text.

Use your imagination, and you can probably figure out where the paintings were placed.

" A man in Paris planned to steal some Paintings from the Louvre. After careful planning, he got past security, stole the paintings, and made it safely to his van.
"However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas.
"When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied, 'Monsieur, that is the reason I stole the paintings.'

"I had no Monet

"To buy Degas

"To make the Van Gogh.

"See if you have De Gaulle to send this on to someone else . . .

"I sent it to you because I figured I had nothing Toulouse."
