No words

Dear Editor:

As we sit here trying to find the words to thank all of the wonderful people who have touched our lives in this tragic time, I cannot come up with one word.

There are no words that say how thankful we are to have such wonderful people in our lives. There are no words that can describe the way your warmth has made our hearts swell. So many people, so many different communities, and so many hearts, reaching out for ours.

When we lost Gauge, we lost a big piece of our lives. Gauge touched so many people. Seeing all of those faces at his service was proof of that. No words can express our love and appreciation for all of those who loved and held our boy dear.

Thank you doesn’t seem to cover it. No words can tell you how you have made a difference in our lives. Just knowing that you are all mourning the loss of Gauge, as we are, makes a difference. We are not alone, you are with us, and that means the world to us. Thank you so much to everyone.

Thank you for being a part of Gauge’s life and a part of ours. Our healing has begun with you…and there are no words that can adequately relay our gratitude.

Proud of voters

Dear Editor:

The citizens of Westport Island can be very proud of themselves after Tuesday’s Election.  A total of 64 percent of all registered voters on Westport Island exercised their constitutional right to vote.

This was one of the highest if not the highest percentage of voters to participate in an election in the history of Westport.  We had a total of 417 voters, including many absentee votes. It was a long day and night, and I would personally like to thank all the poll workers that spent the day with me working hard.

We finally put an end to the day at 11:30 p.m. after everyone’s vote was counted.  Again the citizens of Westport should be proud.  Maybe we can do this again in December when we have another RSU #12 budget vote.

Let’s all get out and vote.

Thank you Westport Island,

Pam Frenier, Town Clerk

Town of Westport Island
