Edgecomb gets grant

The Maine Municipal Association has awarded the town of Edgecomb a $1,664 grant toward the purchase of traffic control safety equipment.

According to a letter from the MMA’s Risk Management Services to Assistant Fire Chief Larry Omland, the grant will cover two-thirds of the purchase cost. Upon receiving proof of payment, the MMA will reimburse the town up to the $1,664 amount, the November 5 letter states.

The MMA has awarded municipalities $1.89 million in safety enhancement grants since 1999, according to an MMA press release.
