We all went batty for books this week at the Wiscasset Library’s Story Hour!  Bats At The Beach by Brian Lies and Stellaluna by Janell Cannon were two perfect books to read to get our young audience interested in learning some bat facts. Did you know there are over 1200 different kinds of bats in the world? We also discovered that the bats that live in Maine only eat bugs and sleep hanging by their feet.  A great way for the children to learn and share the facts was to make bat headbands and attach a different fact to each one.  Everyone looked very festive and knowledgeable with their orange and black bat headbands and even dressed accordingly in Halloween colors!

Story Hour is at the Wiscasset Public Library Children’s room every Thursday at 10:30am. We are located at 21 High Street, Wiscasset(207-882-7161). All good listeners are welcome to enjoy a few stories and an activity to follow.
