Leaders in Maine’s green building and sustainable energy systems will gather in the Energy & Shelter area of the Common Ground Fair this weekend to provide the best possible resources and information on technologies and practices for building, renovating, or improving for efficiency and sustainability.

Visit Evergreen Home Performance to learn how investing in home energy efficiency pays big dividends – in comfort, health, and financial security.  Certified Energy Advisors will be on hand all weekend to explain how they assess homes throughout coastal Maine and engineer efficiency upgrades like air sealing, insulation, and basement encapsulation that make homes more cozy, comfortable, and affordable to heat and cool.

In addition, Evergreen’s efficiency experts will present two talks in the Energy & Shelter Speakers Tent:

Friday, Sept. 19, 11 am: Understanding Your Home’s Energy Picture – and What to Do About It
Learn how certified Energy Advisors evaluate a home’s energy picture and explore typical interventions that manage heat, air, and moisture to maximize energy efficiency.

Saturday, Sept. 20, 3 pm: Energy Efficiency & Healthy Homes
Home energy upgrades are most often associated with the health of our planet, but they can also improve the health of your home. Learn howuntreated homes can concentrate mold, mildew, and other indoor air pollutants, and begin to understand the building science strategies that eliminate the cause of allergens for good.
