Evergreen Home Performance Marketing Manager Kathleen Meil will be among the speakers at this week’s forum on climate change and the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). Hosted by E2Tech at the Cloudport co-working space (63 Federal Street, Portland) the December 8 forum begins at 4 pm and will be immediately followed by a holiday reception.

Wake Up! A Convenient Forum on Climate Change examines RGGI’s cap-and-trade system, which is driving clean energy innovation in the Northeast.  The market-based system reduces carbon pollution from power plants and invests its revenues for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, including more than $50 million in Maine programs alone. These dollars leverage tens of millions more to help residents and businesses save money through weatherization and other improvements to their homes, buildings, and factories.

Speakers include Kathleen Meil, an energy efficiency advocate at Evergreen Home Performance, and Peter Shattuck, Director of the Acadia Center’s Clean Energy Initiative.

The forum and reception are open to the public, but tickets are required. For more information, go to e2tech.org/event-2386813
