Whoooooo did we read about at this week’s story hour?  “Owls” said the children at the Wiscasset Public Library.  The Sleepy Owl by Marcus Pfister and Wow! Said The Owl by Tim Hopgood were the two books of choice that helped us imagine what the lifestyle and sleep cycle of owls are like.

After enjoying the stories, we created our very own owls by recycling egg cartons and cardboard.  When the owl art creations were finished, everyone agreed that they should sit in a windowsill to remind us that they are our friends just like the owl in The Sleepy Owl did with her new friend Tom.

Story hour is at the Wiscasset Public Library children’s room every Thursday at 10:30am.  The library is located at 21 High Street in Wiscasset.  For more information call 882-7161. All good listeners are welcome to enjoy a few stories and an activity to follow.
