The scouts of GSME Troop 1160 in Warren, recently returned from a 4-day, 3-night trip to Acadia National Park. Their itinerary included hiking on several of the area trails, geocaching, challenging themselves on the ropes course at the Acadia Fun Park, enjoying afternoon tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, dinner on the beach in the moonlight, visiting Sand Beach and Thunder Hole, shopping in Bar Harbor and greeted the sunrise on top of Cadillac Mountain. The Scouts also participated in the Junior Ranger Program and learned more about Acadia. Each scout earned a signed certificate and embroidered patch for their efforts. All participants came home a little tired, but will have memories to last a lifetime.

Both the scouts and leadership of Troop 1160 would like to extend a heart-felt "Thank You" to the registered adults who accompanied us, the support of our families, the continued generous support of Faith and Ed LaFlamme and their business Swift Storage, and from our communities. Our trips and opportunities to explore and learn could not continue without your help. Thank you for supporting us thru our annual cookie sales, mega yard sale and other fundraising efforts. It truly takes a village to raise a child, and we have been blessed over the years with community members helping our scouts learn new skills, expose them to new ideas and challenge them to succeed outside of their comfort zones.

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
