YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program Class Starting in Damariscotta February 6th

Sat, 01/28/2017 - 8:45am

A YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program class is forming now to begin meeting in Damariscotta on February 6th. Through this year-long program, you will learn strategies and gain support to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyle changes that will reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes.

This class will meet on Mondays at 6pm at Newcastle Realty (87 Main Street, Damariscotta). The program meets weekly for the first 16 sessions, and then transitions to a less frequent meeting schedule.

If Monday night does not work for you, it is not too late to join the class that meets at the Boothbay Region YMCA on Wednesday at 9am.

Contact Casey Clark Kelley at 207-350-7026 or cclarkelley@clcymca.org to learn if you may be eligible and to enroll today.

You do not need to be a YMCA member or receive a referral from a physician to enroll in the program. The Y is committed to working with all eligible individuals who desire to participate in the program to ensure that the program is affordable for them.

The YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program is offered by the Boothbay Region YMCA and the Central Lincoln County YMCA in partnership with LincolnHealth. The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program. Additional classes in Lincoln County will be starting throughout the year at different locations and times of day
