A 32-year-old Wiscasset man remained at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on March 24, after his arrest in connection with an alleged Woolwich incident, according to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office and jail staff.

Daniel Colby Jr.was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail, jail staff said.

Augusta police arrested Colby at about 7:27 p.m.March 19 on warrants obtained by Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Corporal Aaron Skolfield, a March 20 sheriff’s office press release states.

According to the release, the warrants followed a Tuesday, March 17 incident at 723 Mountain Road in Woolwich. The release states that after a resident of the home answered a knock at his door, Colby allegedly barged into the home with a handgun and threatened the resident’s life. Colby allegedly then ran from the home and eluded several police agencies’ attempts to capture him until Thursday night.

The resident was not hurt; he was familiar with Colby, according the release. “At this point in time it appears the incident involves a dispute amongst friends and family members,” it states. The investigation was continuing.

Colby faces charges of Class A burglary and Class C criminal threatening and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to Thursday night’s release.

“This capture and investigation would not have been possible without the joint efforts of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, the Augusta Police Department, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Wiscasset Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office,” it concludes.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported in December that Colby was rescued Dec. 14 from Westport Island’s Back River, he had allegedly refused help until authorities pepper-sprayed him. He was later arrested on warrants alleging unpaid fines, cultivating marijuana, and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, according to a Dec. 15, 2014 press release.
