Arthur W. Rand

Arthur W. Rand died unexpectedly at his home on Southport on April 4, 2015.

He was born in Albany, New York on Jan. 17, 1955 to Freeman and Ellen (Banks) Rand.

Art was a Vietnam veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1976.

Art was a very quiet man who read a lot of books about airplanes and trains. He also liked to tinker in electronics whenever possible. He was “Uncle Art” to Frank, Charlie and Linda, and her husband, Bob. Art will be sadly missed by his family.

He was predeceased by his father, Freeman Rand I and mother, Ellen E. (Banks) Rand, and his two brothers, Freeman Rand II and Mark Rand.

Art is survived by his sister, Ellen Rand Mailhot, and her husband, Richard, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and his sister, Eleanor Rand of Quincy, Massachusetts.

A graveside service will be held at Pierce Cemetery, Southport, Maine on May 7 at 1 p.m.
