Bar Harbor Comic Con March 25
A visit by actress Gigi Edgley known for her role as Chiana in the science fiction series “Farscape,” along with a replica of “KITT,” the high tech car from the television series “Night Rider,” will be among the dozens of gaming, fantasy, and cosplay exhibitors and dealers, illustrators, artists and authors, at the first-ever Bar Harbor Comic con on Saturday, March 25.
The event is open to all ages. Admission to Bar Harbor Comic Con is by suggested donation of $5 per person and $15 per family.
The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel at 119 Eden Street/Route 3, will benefit the non-profit Park Street Playground Project.
Along with the headliners, and Bar Harbor Batman, other participants include Maine visual and graphic artists, designers including Lawton Mann, Art Gowie, Jayson Stickney/SoulStrikeStudios; fantasy and horror authors of novels and comics including Carrie Jones, Barry Longyear, the group Horror Writers of Maine, Melissa Walshe and Christopher Mills; illustrators including Hugh Martin Tims, Paul Pelletier (Aquaman), DC Cyborg (Justice League) ; Tyson Pease, Amanda Kahl (“Age of Night”), and Andjelko Napijalo.
The Nor'Easter Gaming Expo will host open table top and computer gaming, AncientAlienExpert.com, with Earl Brechlin offering real diplomas in hypothetical disciplines, Studio 36/Jodi Renshaw who photographs life-like scenes with toys, and Israel Skelton/ Skelton Crew Studio LLC, the exclusive home to officially licensed replicas
Representing the otherworldly realm are the Maine Ghostbusters Paranormal Exterminators and Philanthropy group will be visiting; MACE - Maine Association of Cosplay - A Community Charity Costuming Group, and Cemetery Theater - Bangor theater and film group.
Shops represented include Zimmie’s Comics of Lewiston, Comics Plus of Ellsworth (vendor, Magic the Gathering Tournament), J.T. Burton of Bar Harbor Comics and collectibles, Water Farmer Toys: Toys and Collectibles; and Don Sargent - End of the World Gaming and Miniatures Dungeons & Dragons Kings Festival module B11.
Entertainers at Bar Harbor Comic Con include Maine musicians Eric Green and Ryan Halliburton and DJ Bat-Tastick.
Headliner Edgley has recently completed shooting “Hashtag” a short SyFy film. Edgley is also a recording artist, creator of original comic books, director and producer.
The Knight Rider replica car is being included thanks to its creator Leni S. Gronros of Rockport. It is nearly identical to the Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT), the futuristic car driven by star David Hasselhoff for the show "Knight Rider.”
