Submission deadline is Monday, May 16
Wed, 05/04/2016 - 6:00pm

The Kefauver Studio & Gallery, Damariscotta, is calling for 12 artists to participate in the “Small Gifts from the Coast” show, running May 28 through June 26. An artists’ reception, open to the public, will be held on Sunday, May 29 from 4-6:30 p.m.

The show is a celebration of Midcoast Maine and all submitted works should be in keeping with that theme. Each submitted work must be an original creation and have an image size no larger than 12” on a side. The framed dimension of each work should be no more than 16” on a side. All work must be ready for hanging or displaying (framed or painted edges, wired for hanging.) Pedestals are available for 3-dimensional work. Sculpture submissions should be no larger than 10” on a side. Deadline for submission is Monday, May 16.

All work should be reasonably priced for sale. No NFS works will be accepted. The commission for this show will be 30 percent. All sales and sales taxes will be handled by the Gallery, as will shipping, if necessary. In the event of a sale, the artist may, but isn’t required to, replace the work sold.

Twelve artists will be selected to present up to three works at the show. To enter, artists should submit up to five works, in jpg format, via email to: will@kefauverstudio.com.

The show will be advertised through press releases and advertisements in the local papers, and will overlap the Twin Villages ArtWalk on June 17. Additionally, the event will be posted on the Kefauver Studio & Gallery website, and will appear in the Lincoln County Summer Seasons Activities Guide and the Maine Studio + Gallery Guide website.

For questions about the “Small Gifts from the Coast” show or further details about submissions, contact Will Kefauver at 207-226-0974, will@kefauverstudio.com or www.kefauverstudio.com.

The Kefauver Studio & Gallery is located at 144 Bristol Road, Damariscotta, and is open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.

The Gallery will be placing other calls to artists to participate in future shows for the 2016 season. Dates and terms for submission will be announced at a later date for these shows: “The Boat Show” July 1-31, “Rock ‘n’ Waves” Aug. 4-28, “Monhegan Days” Sept. 1-25 and “The 6” x 6” x 6” #2 Show” Sept. 29 through Oct. 23.
