Casey A. Dalton

Fri, 08/01/2014 - 7:45am

Casey Allen Dalton, 19, died suddenly on July 30, 2014 from injuries sustained in a car accident, along with his best friend and cousin, Keegan William Spear. Casey grew up in Wiscasset and attended local schools from kindergarten through high school.

Casey was a great athlete. He participated in baseball and soccer on recreation, travel and school teams. Casey loved basketball. A phenomenal ball handler and passionate player, he was more at home on the court than anywhere else. One of his proudest moments during his school basketball career was when he was part of the Wiscasset Busline League championship team. Casey enjoyed all types of music, especially that created by his brothers’ hip-hip group ECC. He appreciated a nice pair of kicks, and a crisp, clean ball cap. By his friends, he was described as the life of the party; one who always had your back. He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. His love of pasta was unmatched. He had a quick wit, an infectious smile, and was welcomed wherever he went.

Casey worked as a cook for restaurants in Boothbay Harbor. He aspired to attend culinary school. As his first job, Casey proudly worked for the Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Mechelle Spencer; maternal grandfather, Capt. Bill Bibber; paternal grandfather, Richard Dalton Sr.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Rick and Cyndy Dalton of Fort Myers, Fla.; mother, Cheri Bibber of Boothbay; maternal grandmother, Polly Dalton of Wiscasset; step-grandparents, Terry and Susan Kimper of Naples, Fla.; brothers, Spencer Vogt of Boothbay, Drew Bibber, David Lee and his wife Pamela of Damariscotta, Ryan Benner and his wife Brittany Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., Nicholas Fothergill and girlfriend Miranda Dumont of Yarmouth; sisters, Sarah Manfredo of Owls Head and Lindsay Carman and her husband Chris of New Gloucester; nephews, Davian Sewall of Bath, Zayden Sidelinger of Bristol and Maxwell Lee of Damariscotta; nieces, Briley Peterson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Brooklyn Wilhelm of Owls Head. Casey is also survived and will be sincerely missed by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Friends joined the family from 6 to 8 p.m. August 2 at the Hall’s of Boothbay. A celebration of Casey’s life was held 2 p.m. August 3 at the Wiscasset Community Center, Route 27, Wiscasset. The Rev. Robin Honaker led the service. Casey was laid to rest at the Sheepscot Cemetery on Kings Highway in Sheepscot.
