Christmas services at First Congo

Sun, 12/17/2017 - 8:30am

The first of two services on Dec. 24 will be held at 10 a.m. and will feature vocal and instrumental music offerings, including J. P. Sweelink’s “Hodie Christus Natus Est” by the choir. The service will include the sacrament of Holy Baptism.

The traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. and will feature the story of Christmas, the singing of carols and a Christmas meditation, “Only a Child,” given by the Rev. Josh Fitterling. The service will be preceded by an instrumental offering of early French Christmas Carols at 6:30. The offering collected will benefit the Special Needs Fund of the church, which provides fuel, rent, and additional assistance to our neighbors in times of need.

The Christmas celebration will conclude on Sunday, Dec. 31 with a service of Lessons and Carols at 10 a.m. All services are open to the public.
