Wiscasset Planning Board

Clark’s Point request heads for public hearing

Wiscasset Planning Board members voiced no early concerns Monday night with Clark’s Point Development LLC’s request to change plans for six condominiums near the subdivision’s tennis courts and community garden. Six homes would still be built, but home buyers, not the developer or a homeowners association, would own the lots the homes sit on, Karl Olson of Karl Olson and Associates said.

Olson and one of the development’s owners, Scott Lalumiere, fielded board members’ few questions. Each home would probably have its own septic system, although there might be an instance of two sharing one, Lalumiere said.

The board set a site walk at the River Point Road subdivision for 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 with Chairman Ray Soule and members Lester Morse and Tony Gatti. The board plans a public hearing at its 7 p.m. Feb. 26 meeting at the municipal building.

Asked about the proposal after Monday’s meeting, Lalumiere said real estate agent Sherri Dunbar has found that prospective home buyers want to own the land, as well. He said he thought the meeting went fantastic, thanks to Olson’s efforts.
