Claude R. Preston Sr., 97, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, widower of Alberta Helene Leavitt Preston, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He was born May 3, 1915 in Jellico, Tenn.

He served in the Navy during World War II, and he was a federal employee for the Department of the Navy. Survivors include: two daughters: Lucille J. Benoit of Wiscasset and Diane Carey of Junction City, Ky.; one son: Claude (Ann) Preston Jr. of Harrodsburg; one sister: Pauline Oliver, Berea; four grandchildren: Charles J. Benoit Jr., Michael D. Benoit, David W. Benoit and Chris Carey; and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery by Bro. John David Lane.
