The Central Lincoln County YMCA board of directors has launched a nationwide search for its next CEO and has formed a search committee that will work with regional and Y-USA expertise for additional support and resources as the organization identifies its next leader.

The Damariscotta YMCA will be accepting applications until Oct. 3 and hopes to have completed the process, with a new CEO in place by Dec. 1.

The board has identified leadership needs in the following areas, as the key characteristics and skills for the successful candidate: highly effective and visible representation of the Y mission, goals and values within the community; implementation of a strong and effective strategic plan with the guidance the board of directors; oversight of our facility renovation and construction of a new aquatic center; leadership in advancing our causes in Waldoboro; expansion of our programming, by way of our devoted staff, through collaboration with other non profits, businesses and community leaders; strong ambassadorship in fulfilling our ongoing capital campaign goals.

“In the meantime, we are grateful for the ongoing efforts of our interim CEO, and Chamberlain resident, Bob Young, who has successfully navigated our organization and advanced our causes over the last few months,” said Board Chairman Dennis Anderson. “Mr. Young will continue to provide leadership and assist in the successful transition until the new CEO is on board.”

The CLC YMCA is dedicated to strengthening the foundations of our community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
