Come build bridges: Volunteer at the WW&F

​During the upcoming months it is all hands on deck at the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum in Alna. We need your help to build a bridge!
 
During the height of summer, trains running every weekend but there are many projects going on behind the scenes. In August it is planned to move a 1918 covered truss bridge into position over Trout Brook. There are also maintenance projects in the shop and track work that needs to be done, but the majority of effort is focused on preparing for the bridge installation. The work is happening on a tight schedule and, as they say, many hands make light work.
 
Anyone interested in volunteering at the Museum is welcome to come to the Museum’s Sheepscot campus located at 97 Cross Road in Alna to get started. Work always takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and additional days are scheduled as needed. Work typically begins by 9:30 a.m., so arrive around that time to get acquainted. There are no formalities; just bring a desire to work alongside others, learn, and join a great group of volunteers.
 
Volunteers do not need any particular skills to be volunteer at the Museum. Make sure to share your special talents and abilities with us so that we can find a make the most of your help.
