Come to Woolwich Day August 2

The 21st annual Woolwich Day will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Municipal Complex on the Nequasset Road.

The events will begin at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Fire Department Auxiliary. At that time, registration will also begin for the Fun Run and the Bob Meade 10k Classic Road Race. The Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. and the 10k at 8:30 a.m. The other events get rolling at 9 a.m. with the Historical Society Book & Bake Sale & Raffle.

Over 30 vendors will be selling Maine made products and crafts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A bounce house and kids games will be featured. The blessing of the animals will take place at 10 a.m. There will be a balloon artist on hand making balloon creatures for the kids, young and old.

The CHIPS identification program will take place from noon to 3 p.m. with an identification package going home with each child. At 3 p.m., CHIPS will be giving away one girl's and one boy’s bike. The child must be present to win.

A free folk music concert with the Kennebec River Band will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. A baked bean supper sponsored by Woolwich Junior Athletics will close out the day from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The supper will include hot dogs, salads, rolls, dessert and a drink for $10.
