Crowds bloom at garden club plant sale

Garden Club of Wiscasset members were thankful they got sun not rain Saturday for their annual plant sale in and outside the municipal building. The forecast changed and the sun came through with a light spring breeze.
The crowds were coming in waves, first the early birds, then those who got up later, organizers said while the event was still underway. Wiscasset's Jan Whitmore pointed out the rows of plants on the meeting room floor. She said the rows were getting shorter due to sales.
The annual sale raises funds for scholarships and beautification projects.
