Damariscotta Police Department: Throwing things at passing vehicles

    The Damariscotta Police report the following activity from May 9 to May 15, 2016.

    May 9

    Officer Halpin assisted a citizen on Salt Bay Drive.; summonsed Courtney Wilder of Taunton, Massachusetts for speeding on Route 1; assisted a citizen on Parking Lot Lane.

    Chief Young assisted a citizen at the police department.

    Sgt. Warlick assisted another agency on Blue Haven Lane.

    May 10

    Sgt. Warlick took a police information report on South Road; arrested Michael Hood of Windsor for an outstanding warrant and violating conditions of release; assisted another agency on Cottage Point Road; investigated a report of a deer that had possibly been struck by a vehicle on Bristol Road; and investigated an alarm on Massasoit Drive.

    May 11

    Chief Young took a report of a motor vehicle accident on Main Street. The damage was non-reportable.

    Chief Young took a police information report on Biscay Road

    Sgt. Warlick investigated a report of theft on Jackie’s Trail; it was a civil issue no theft had occurred.

    May 12

    Chief Young investigated a motor vehicle accident on Miles Street. Robin Bennett of Warren was driving a 2013 Volvo and Kathleen Moses of Bristol was driving a 2015 Subaru. No injuries were reported.

    Chief Young assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on Bristol Road; assisted with an unwanted subject on Schooner Street; investigated a report of shoplifting from Hannaford; and arrested Cassandra Beckim of Augusta for theft by unauthorized taking and possession of scheduled drugs.

    Chief Young and Officer Sylvester investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Biscay Road.

    Officer Sylvester investigated a motor vehicle accident on School Street and assisted another agency on Massasoit Drive.

    May 13

    Ralph White of Damariscotta was summonsed for operating after suspension on Back Meadow Road by Sgt. Warlick.

    Sgt. Warlick is investigating a report of threating on Water Street.

    Officer Sylvester took a report of a phone scam on Standpipe Road; is investigating a report of suspicious activity on Water Street; assisted another agency on Ledgewood Court and investigated an alarm on Church Street.

    May 14

    Officer Fait investigated an alarm on Church Street; responded to a two vehicle accident on Main St. No injuries were reported.

    Officer Fait investigated a report of a dog in a vehicle on Parking Lot Lane. The owner was returning to their vehicle as Officer Fait arrived the dog was not in distress.

    Officer Sylvester responded to a report of a female standing beside the road yelling and throwing things at passing vehicles. Rebecca Baker of Waldoboro was warned for disorderly conduct and obstructing a public way.

    Officer Sylvester investigated a report of threatening on Ledgewood Court.; responded to a report of an unwanted subject on Main Street; arrested Rebecca Baker of Waldoboro was for disorderly conduct, violating conditions of release and refusing to submit to arrest on Main Street.

    Officer Sylvester is investigating a report of a domestic issue on Biscay Road

    May 15

    Officer Dotson investigated a report of an unwanted subject on Water Street and investigated an alarm on Main Street.

    Damariscotta Police Department responded to 356 calls for service during the time period of May 9 to May 15 including: 3 animal complaints, 1 administrative, 5 burglar alarms, 19 assist citizen, 4 assist other agency, 1 compliance check, 254 property checks, 1 civil complaint, 3 community policing, 1 disabled motor vehicle, 1 domestic disturbance, 3 erratic operations, 1 mental subject, 4 motor vehicle accidents, 20 motor vehicle stops, 11 police information, 4 found/lost property, 1 paperwork service, 1 suspicious activity, 1 traffic hazard, 3 theft/forgery/fraud, 2 threatening, 6 traffic control and 3 unwanted subjects. 19 citations or warnings were issued. 5 summonses or arrests were made.
