Sat, 09/27/2014 - 12:30pm

Pemaquid Chapter, NSDAR began its 2014-2015 meeting schedule on Sept. 9 in Newcastle after a summer recess.

Regent Louise Brown welcomed eight members and one guest, guest speaker Meg Klingelhofer, education director for New Hope for Women. Her talk was informative and eye opening to the state’s problems regarding domestic violence in all its forms. She told us what to look out for and how to help someone in need.

Pemaquid Chapter meets seven times a year in September, October, November, December, April, May and June. The April and December meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month and the other meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month. The meetings are held in the library at the Lincoln Home in Newcastle. Visitors are always welcome. Call Louise Brown at 207-623-8750 or Miriam Buckley at 207-563-3949 for more information.

Sept. 17-23 is Constitution Week, commemorating the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Let us celebrate Constitution Week by resolving to be better informed and responsible citizens. Read the Constitution.
