Lincoln Theater is hosting the screening of the documentary "Community Conservation: Finding the Balance Between Nature and Culture" on Monday, Oct. 23 from 7-9 p.m.  Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT), a statewide land conservation organization, has partnered with Emmy Award Winning Filmmaker Mark Ireland on a documentary film and speaker series called “Community Conservation,” which unveils a new approach to conservation in Maine and exposes the threats to Maine’s rural way of life and its wild and scenic landscapes.

The film screenings and speaker series will be aired at several locations throughout the state, including: Portland, Falmouth, Calais, Ellsworth, Grand Lake Stream, Kittery, Lewiston, Orono, and more to be determined.

The Damariscotta screening will be followed by a moderated conversation/Q&A designed to open dialogue about community conservation across Maine.  Tim Glidden, MCHT president, Mark Ireland, filmmaker, and Damariscotta River Lakes Association's Steven Hufnagel will moderate the discussion. This program is free and open to the public.

Lincoln Theater is located at 2 Theater Street in Damariscotta.
