Dorothy M. Doucette

Dorothy M. Doucette of Boothbay Harbor died peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 6, 2015.

Dorothy was born Sept. 8, 1922 in Medford, Massachusetts to Stanley and Dorothy (Spencer) Bailey. She attended local schools and went on to graduate from the Massachusetts School of Art with a bachelor’s degree in art.

After graduating, Dorothy owned an antique shop for several years before marrying Hartford Doucette. Together they had one son, David. Dorothy then went on to work with her father in sales and in running the family store. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed gardening, knitting and sewing.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Hartford in 2001 and her son David in the 1980s.

She is survived by her sisters, Grace Tellefsen of Southport and Barbara Glines of Salem, New Hampshire; five nieces, five nephews, several cousins and friends.

A reception will be held in Dorothy’s honor at St. Andrews Village on Friday, April 17 at 2 p.m. A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 25 at Rural Cemetery in Walpole, Massachusetts.
