A Whitefield man’s pickup truck caught fire on Route 194 in that town early June 26. Thomas McGrath said he got out and put the fire mostly out with a fire extinguisher. The fire started after the pickup lost power and he tried to restart the truck, McGrath said as Whitefield firefighters worked at the scene, near Hollywood Boulevard.

Firefighters also used an extinguisher to finish putting out the fire.

The fire, reported shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday, caused no stop to traffic. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office also came to the scene.
