Elijah's Coffee House is gaining in popularity among family members, friends, neighbors and local business folks within the Damariscotta community and beyond. The public is cordially invited to Hodgdon Green, ElderCare Network's cozy assisted-living home at 6 Hodgdon Street on the first Friday of each month from 9-11 a.m. to enjoy music, laughter, company and a surprising variety of morning treats.

Elijah Curtis, Hodgdon Green's cook, arranges the bounty of baked goods, fresh cut fruit and vegetables and of course, coffee on the table in the dining room for all to sample and enjoy. Folks can help themselves to cinnamon coffeecake and/or scrumptious scones prepared by Lorraine Rosenbury, HG baker extraordinaire who passionately combines fresh ingredients to produce delectable treats. You can also sample Lorraine's marvelous confections at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay!

Residents invite family members and neighbors. To name a few: Reverend Luger stopped in on his way to do his morning service for Hodgdon Green residents. Hodgdon Green staff member, AmyLynn was happy to share part of her morning with her mother-in-law and a friend from Boothbay.

An individual from a neighboring village came in with friends to socialize and get a feel for the home while considering a possible move in the future. And two very special visitors all the way from Topsham, Margaret Ellsworth (former Activity Director and Trans-Linc Coordinator at Hodgdon Green) along with her friend, Pat Spock, whose mother was a former resident of Hodgdon Green, rounded out the group. (Rumor has it that Minda Gold and Lisa Katz stopped by late morning.)

All in attendance were entertained by HG resident Lu Lasher playing her violin beautifully to accompany the festivities. Don't miss the next coffeehouse scheduled for Friday, May 2! You never know who'll be in attendance so see you there.
