Meeting at its headquarters on Business Route 1 in Damariscotta on Dec. 4, the Lincoln County Republican Committee took time to savor their successes in the last election before moving on to plan for the next election cycle.

One of the first orders of business will be the election of officers. A nominating committee of Jon McKane, Les Fossel and a yet to be named person will be presenting a recommended slate of officers to the full committee. Suggestions for candidates can be made directly to the committee or nominations can also be made from the floor.

Much of the meeting was devoted to discussions about goals for the next two years, attracting young Republicans, and building town committees, as well as finding and supporting candidates for the 2016 elections. The aim being to capture seats currently held by Democrats in Lincoln County to support the LePage administration.

Also on the agenda was a discussion about funding the current headquarters.
