Eunice P. Potter

Eunice P. Potter, 81, of Alna died January 9, 2013 at a Brunswick hospital after a short period of ill health.

Eunice was born in Parkman, the daughter of Clifford W. and Laura Eunice (Hatch) Parker. She attended Parkman schools and graduated from Newport High School.

Eunice married William H. Potter in Newport on April 7, 1951. For over 20 years Eunice was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier.

Eunice was a member of the Rural Mail Carries Association, a member of the Huntoon Hill Grange in Wiscasset, and a member of GMC Nor-Easters R.V. Association. She loved to travel with her family in the motor home. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and knitting for her family and friends.

Eunice is survived by her husband of 61 years, William “Bill” Potter of Alna; two daughters, Barbara Watkis of Alna and Pamela and her husband Gordon Tibbetts of Alna; two grandchildren, Angela and Joshua; four great-grandchildren, William and Zachary, Rusty and Raina; two great-great-grandchildren, Haley and Hope; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Richard L. Potter; her sister, Mabel Bradford; and her brother, Harold Parker.

A celebration of Eunice’s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Huntoon Hill Grange in Wiscasset from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Alna Cemetery.
