Frank M. Auvil, 60, of Bath, formerly of Wiscasset, died July 3, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1955, a son of Ray W. and Rose (Ruse) Auvil.

He attended schools in Pennsylvania and entered the U.S. Navy during Vietnam era. He moved to Maine and in 1980 he was employed at Bath Iron Works until 1995. He owned and operated Frank’s Mechanical Services in Topsham.

He is survived by his mother, Rose Auvil of Florida; one son, William P. Auvil of Louisiana; two daughters, Amanda K. Auvil of Wiscasset and Stephanie Auvil of North Dakota; one brother, John Auvil of Florida; two sisters, Stella Shelby and Virginia Noon, both of Florida; one granddaughter, Ava Zimmermann of Wiscasset; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, Steven M. Auvil on July 2, 2003.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset with military honors.
