Go Red For Women, go red for a healthy heart
To feel good from your head to your feet keep a healthy heart beat. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. To prevent heart disease and increase awareness of its effects, Spectrum Generations is proudly participating in American Heart Month. The Coastal Team is asking you to show your support for educational programs and cardiovascular research by wearing red on National Wear Red Day® Friday, Feb. 3.
Why Go Red? Heart disease and stroke cause one in three deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. Fortunately, we have the power to change that because 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. Go Red For Women is a movement that starts with you. Lead by example and make the time to “Know Your Numbers.”
Join Cathy Cole, a member of the LincolnHealth clinical education team on Friday, Feb. 23 at 11:30 a.m. for a candid discussion that focuses on how women, across all generations, can take control of their heart health. It’s time for all women (and their male partners and friends) to learn the most critical numbers in their life — their hearts depend on it. Remember to wear red for women and to bring your heart healthy red bag lunch. Beverages provided. Participation fee: $5. Advanced registration required. To express your interest call 563-1363.
