Great Salt Bay Harvest Fair Oct. 31

Thu, 10/08/2015 - 8:00am

Mark your calendars for the annual Great Salt Bay School Harvest Fair, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Great Salt Bay School Gymnasium. GSB 8th graders and their parents have worked hard to put together a fun fall event–known to be a great time-for children and families.

The Harvest Fair’s proceeds go towards funding the 8th grade class trip to Boston, which will take place next spring. Also, FoME (Friends of Music Education) will be selling poinsettias for their annual fundraiser to help fund music scholarships, and the purchase of instruments and equipment.

Back by popular demand, will be the jail! Throw your friends and family into the jail cell when they start to drive you crazy. Young children will enjoy our ball-tossing games, decorating Halloween goblins and ghouls with tattoos, a Beanie Baby walk, and much more!

An abundance of delicious food will be available such as: fish chowder, chili, Swedish meatballs, loaded baked potatoes, hamburgers, hot dogs, candy apples, brownies, cupcakes, cookies, banana loaf, chocolate zucchini bread, popcorn and bags of granola.

The silent auction will be full of beautiful items this year perfect for your family or yourself. So far, generous local businesses and individuals have donated items that include a car wash credit, tools, food, gardening supplies, eight yards of loam, handmade pottery, wood crafts, paintings, tanning services, sauna time, and hair care. More is coming in every day!

Stayed tuned for more releases prior to the fair on Oct. 31 and look for fliers and signs around town, graciously donated by Supplies Unlimited. For more information please contact Amy McNaughton at 207-751-2178.
