Guy “Jared” Peaslee, 32, of Boothbay, died unexpectedly February 25, 2016.

Jared was born to Guy F. Peaslee Jr. of Boothbay and Maddy Ryder Peaslee of Milford, Massachusetts on March 12, 1983.

After graduating from Boothbay Region High School, Jared joined the family business in 2011. He worked alongside his father doing construction for Guy F. Peaslee & Son Construction. In recent years, he became a well-known local, independent contractor doing odd jobs.

In January of 2007, Jared was blessed with meeting the "joy of his life.” On July 12, 2008, he married Nichole (Demers) Peaslee, his true soulmate. For the next eight years they were inseparable and share a love that is forever unbreakable. Together they enjoyed spending time doing word puzzles, playing board games, day trips to the beach or walking the rocks along the ocean. Vacations were spent in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, seeing the sights and just sharing many laughs and quiet times together.

Jared was warmly welcomed into Nichole's family. Jared loved spending time with his mother- and father-in-law, Irv and Tammy Purington, his brother- and sister-in-law, Bud and Abby Purington along with their children Kayden, Landon, Tristan, and Kellen.

Family and friends were very important to Jared. He spent much time with his father, Guy going to the casinos playing the slot machines and card tables. Jared became a blackjack and Texas Hold 'Em "pro". The time spent with his Dad also included time with his nephew, Nicholas, going fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and target practicing. Nicholas fondly remembers his uncle’s favorite saying to him, "Where's my bloody money? Gimme my bloody money"! Jared and his niece, Cheyenne shared their time together going to the beach, seeing the latest movies and taking "road trips" in his '93 Camaro. Jared made many attempts to win against his sister, Adrianne playing rounds of mini golf. They also enjoyed horseback riding and going to fairs.

One of Jared’s favorite past-times was searching for bargains at flea markets with his mother, Maddy at The "Big E" in Springfield, Massachusetts. It was considered his "best place for a bargain." Maddy played a big part in helping Jared find the base of his faith in God at a very young age.

Jared's sister, Pam (aka "Twisted Sister") introduced him to karaoke around the age of 5. A song that was eventually his favorite, which also became his "signature" song was “Friends In Low Places.” They shared their love of music, Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing cards and gambling. Starting at a young age they spent much time together taking vacations and going to see the Red Sox. As Jared got older, betting on the horse races at the Windsor Fair, and working at doing odd jobs were a few things they also enjoyed.

Eddie Enos of Framingham, Massachusetts became Jared’s lifelong friend when they were very young. They were inseparable and together enjoyed playing street hockey, karate classes, basketball and vacations to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Jared will be remembered by many for his infectious smile, his wit and ability to make people laugh with his jokes and pranks, as well his positive, loving outlook on life and the overall joy he brought to everyone.

Jared was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Tammy Demers Purington.

He is survived by his wife, Nichole Peaslee of Boothbay; his mother, Maddy Ryder Peaslee of Milford, Massachusetts; his father, Guy F.
