Music, cocktails, an ice cream-tasting and book signings tipped off Harbor Fest 2016 at a party held at the Rocktide Inn in Boothbay Harbor on Friday, Sept. 2. Additional tastings were held at Whale’s Tale and Fisherman’s Wharf.

“We are super excited,” said event coordinator Lori Reynolds.

The fifth year of Harbor Fest has new events added to the 10-day schedule of bands performances, food tastings, sidewalk sales, art exhibits and road races.

Added are an oyster festival at Mine Oyster Restaurant and a wellness fair, said Reynolds.

The kickoff party on Friday included music by Dani Tribesman and the Downeast Soul Coalition. Cookbooks by chefs Ronaldo Linares and Jim Bailey were available for signing.
