Fri, 04/24/2015 - 2:15pm

On Tuesday, April 28, 5-8 p.m., the FARMS Community Kitchen (upstairs over the Rising Tide Market) in Damariscotta will welcome noted local baker Debra Arter, who will share tips and rules of thumb from her many years of teaching experience. Sign up for her class to learn how to proof yeast and to make whole wheat and white bread from one recipe. Learn also to shape cloverleaf, butterflake, Parker House, crescent, bubble, sniptop and butterfly rolls, as well as sweet rolls. As a bonus, you will learn how to make an easy savory braid that will wow any dinner party or potluck.

The cost of the three-hour class is $24, plus $6 for materials. Early Birds who register by April 24 will save $5. To register, leave a message (name, phone number, email address, title and date of class) on the FARMS phone at 207-563-1161, or email us at info@mefarms.org, or send the same information and a check made out to FARMS, P.O. Box 421, Damariscotta 04543.

Recipes will be provided. Each person will take home dough to bake and also get samples of all the breads and rolls the class has made together. Please bring your own rolling pin and a covered bowl for taking home dough and other items.
