‘I Love Maine’ movie at Lincoln Theater Aug. 25

On Saturday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. the Y-Arts Program will premiere the new movie musical, “I Love Maine,” at the Lincoln Theater. Based on the original musical by Maine native, Joel Biron, the full-length motion picture follows two students as they travel around the state finding out what they love about the place we call home.

“I Love Maine, the Musical” was originally premiered on stage at the Lincoln Theater in 2016. This summer Y-Arts Director, Emily Mirabile, decided to work with local youth to turn this favorite piece into a movie. Over 30 young performers traveled around the state filming the various scenes and songs.

The film stars Sophia Mansfield, Josephine Shea and the 2018 Movie Musical campers. Cameos include performances by Andy Hamblett, Andrew Fenniman, Corey Pottle, Joel Biron, Roosevelt Bishop, Rick Hilscher, Jackie McLoon and Taylor Fish.

Join our Y-Arts Youth on Aug. 25 for this special red carpet event. Tickets can be purchased prior to the screening at the Lincoln Theater Box Office.
