Inn Along the Way offers ways to connect with others

Thu, 12/21/2017 - 7:00am

This holiday season, Inn Along the Way has welcomed dozens of community members to share their talents and make new memories. Participants in the December “Holidays with HeART” workshops on Dec. 2 and 16 created and decorated a Remembrance Tree that sits in the parlor. Community members are invited to stop by in the next few weeks to add more decorations to the tree, sharing their hopes and commitments for the new year. Located at 741 Main Street in Damariscotta, Inn Along the Way at Chapman Farm is open Monday mornings from 9 to noon and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Beginning Jan. 13, a Community Circle for Caregivers will be offered from 10:00 to noon on the second and fourth Saturdays in January, February, and March. For more information on this and other Inn Along the Way programs, call Sherry at 207-751-6261.

Inn Along the Way is a nonprofit organization in the process of creating a collaborative community offering older adults, and those seeking temporary relief from the responsibilities of caregiving, an environment of support, purpose, and sustainability in a multigenerational and mutually interdependent setting. The organization is currently raising funds to complete its first phase, which will transform the original farmhouse into a small inn with a café and community rooms, offering overnight accommodations to the general public, as well as those seeking respite.
