LCHA Winter Lecture Series Feb. 12

Sumner McKane is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and filmmaker based in Midcoast Maine. He combines film, photography, sound design, oral histories, and live music to present live docu-exhibits based on his educational experience as a historian and photographer, and from his career as a professional performing musician.

McKane studied photography at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and at the University of Montana. He studied history at the University of Montana and at the University of Southern Maine, and graduated from USM with high honors in history, and as a member of Phi Alpha Theta - the National Historians Honor Society. 

His lecture, "In the Blood — Logging in Maine," on Sunday, Feb. 12 will begin at 1 p.m. in the Wiscasset Communications Building behind the County Court House on Route One in Wiscasset. Coffee and pastries will be served. A donation of $5 is appreciated.
