Leonard to lead 10th annual World Wide Photo Walk in New Gloucester

Mon, 09/25/2017 - 12:30pm

The 10th annual World Wide Photo Walk is coming Saturday, Oct. 7. It’s a day when people all over the planet participate in a walk to shoot pictures, meet new friends and socialize. Anyone with a camera and any ability is invited to participate --- kids and students are especially invited to join a walk. You do not need a fancy [expensive] camera to participate – a camera phone or even a point and shoot camera will do just fine.

The process to register is easy and free – just go to www.worldwidephotowalk.com and look for a walk near you. If you are traveling on that date consider joining a walk in another location to meet new friends and see some new geography.

As of this writing there are three walks taking place in Maine – in Ogunquit, Wiscasset and Mike Leonard, a frequent contributor of images to the Boothbay Register, is holding his walk in New Gloucester on the campus of Pineland starting at 10 a.m. Details of each walk can be found at the respective listing at the website.

Mike’s walk in Pineland will feature a diversity of subjects to photograph from flowers in various gardens to a water fountain, buildings with interesting architecture and more.

After the walk all registered participants are eligible and strongly encouraged to enter 1 image in the photo contest that follows the walk to possibly win a prize.

It is free to register, free to partake in a walk and free to enter an image in the contest that follows.

For a list of Leonard’s photography events, visit his website at www.phototourismbymike.com  where you can quickly link to his photo sessions coming up through 2018 now, learn more about Photo Tourism and see the photo services he provides.
