Lincoln County Democrats host lobster bake Aug. 15 in Walpole

Tue, 08/04/2015 - 1:30pm

The Lincoln County Democrats will be holding their annual lobster bake to raise funds for upcoming county campaigns in 2016 and to honor current Democratic officeholders and their role in Maine politics.

Generous lobster or hot dog dinners will be offered, plus a raw oyster cash bar and music by Old Grey Goose, back by popular demand. And it all will happen Saturday, August 15 on the beautiful shores of the lower Damariscotta River in Walpole, on the property of Linda and Dirk Brunner.

Invited guests include Sen. Chris Johnson, Rep. Michael Devin, Rep. Jeff Evangelos, Lincoln County Commissioners Bill Blodgett and Mary Trescot, Lincoln County Sheriff Todd Brackett, Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap, and Democratic National Committee members Maggie Allen and Troy Jackson.

Caterer Jeff Hurd of The Narrows Tavern will be preparing the lobsters, mussels, and other traditional fare. The cost of the lobster dinner with mussels is $35, the hot dog dinner $10. All dinners include corn, potato salad or coleslaw, watermelon and soda. The music and offerings from the oyster bar begin at noon and the food line opens at 1 p.m.

The participants, the riverside location, and next year’s election challenges promise to make the 2015 lobster bake a memorable one, so don't miss it.

The exact location of the event is 331 Clark's Cove Road, just down the road from the Darling Marine Center. Take Route 129 south from Damariscotta, and an immediate right turn after the Wawenock golf course.
