Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: More deer-related accidents

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 314 calls for the week of Oct. 3-10 and year to date, LCSO has responded to 14,362 calls.

Summonses

On Oct. 3, Scott A. Danforth, 24, of Jefferson was issued a summons for Operating under the Influence, on River Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

On Oct. 3, Pamela J. St. Jean, 60, of Alna was issued a summons for Driving to Endanger, on Recreation Pkwy, Nobleboro, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

On Oct. 4, George Bronn, 39, of Whitefield was issued a summons for Operating after Habitual Offender Revocation, on East River Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.

On Oct. 5, Isaac C. Molt, 35, of Bristol was issued a summons for Failure to Notify Owner of PD Accident, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

On Oct. 7, Aimee Harrison, 37, of Phippsburg was issued a summons for Operating after Suspension, on Indian Road, Dresden, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

On Oct. 7, Kolton J. McKenney, 18, of Bremen was issued summonses for Operating under the Influence and Minor Consuming Liquor, on Waldoboro Road, Bremen, by Deputy John Braley.

Arrests

On Oct. 3, Matthew Laurelez, 21, of Topsham was arrested for Trafficking in Prison Contraband, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

On Oct. 3, Shawn D. Day, 23, of Waldoboro was arrested for Violating Condition of Release (x3) and Tampering with Witness, Informant, Juror or Victim, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

On Oct. 3, Jonathan Larose, 42, of Woolwich was arrested for Violating Condition of Release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

On Oct. 3, Shawn D. Day, 23, of Waldoboro was arrested for Violating Condition of Release and Trafficking in Prison Contraband, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

On Oct. 3, Jason J. Brown, 39, of Gardiner was arrested for Violating Condition of Release and Trafficking in Prison Contraband, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

On Oct. 4, Jennifer B. Stevens, 47, of Newcastle was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, on Granite Point Road, Newcastle, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore.

On Oct. 4, Adam E. Oliveri, 39, of Bristol was arrested for Violating Condition of Release and Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drug, on Alna Road, Alna, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

On Oct. 5, Tucker J. Lewis, 23, of Boothbay was arrested on a Probation Violation, on Route 1, Edgecomb, by Deputy Chase Bosse.

On Oct. 6, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Westport Island was arrested for Operating under the Influence (Drugs or Combo), on Gardiner Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.

On Oct. 7, Kristen A. Robbins, 45, of Virginia Beach, Virginia was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, on Crooker Road, Bristol, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Accidents

On Oct. 3, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Scott A. Danforth, 24, of Jefferson. Mr. Danforth was operating his 2005 Chevrolet Colorado northbound when he swerved into the southbound lane, striking a large rock in the southbound ditch, which then caused his vehicle to roll over onto its side in the southbound ditch. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 3, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Ramunas Stepanauskas, 46, of Nobleboro. Mr. Stepanauskas was operating his 2013 Toyota Prius northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the east side and was struck. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 4, an accident occurred on East River Road in Whitefield involving George Bronn, 39, of Whitefield. Mr. Bronn was operating his 2007 Chevrolet Equinox northbound when he observed a horse drawn carriage also traveling northbound. Mr. Bronn attempted to avoid the carriage and as a result, his vehicle skidded into the southbound lane, then struck the back of the carriage, which pushed it into the northbound ditch. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 4, an accident occurred on Ludwig Road in Dresden involving Faith H. Bailey, 82, of Dresden and Andy Krechkin, 72, of Dresden. Ms. Bailey was operating her 2005 Buick Lacrosse southbound from a private driveway, attempting to enter westbound onto the Ludwig Road. Mr. Krechkin was operating his 2004 Ford F-150 eastbound when Bailey failed to yield to Krechkin’s vehicle and struck it. Chief Deputy Rand Maker was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 5, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Florin A. Ungureanu, 29, of New Harbor. Mr. Ungureanu was operating his 2009 BMW northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 6, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Francis A. Seiders, 78, of South Bristol. Mr. Seiders was operating his 2015 Toyota Tacoma northbound when a deer traveling westbound crossed the road and was struck.  Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 6, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Nicholas E. Salata, 71, of North Berwick and Philip R. Sewall, 60, of Durham. Mr. Sewall was operating his 2014 BMW southbound and was turning left into a driveway when Mr. Salata ran into the back of Sewall’s vehicle with his 2012 Toyota Tacoma. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 6, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving Kolton J. McKenney, 18, of Bremen. Mr. McKenney was operating his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado southbound when a deer ran out in front of his vehicle. Mr.  McKenney swerved to the left to avoid the deer, however, he lost control of his vehicle and exited the left side of the roadway. His vehicle then struck a telephone pole, went up over a stonewall and came to rest in a patch of thick bushes. Deputy John Braley was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Indian Road in Dresden involving Adam J. Beaulieu, 16, of Richmond and Aimee Harrison, 37, of Phippsburg. Mr. Beaulieu was stopped northbound in his 2003 Chevrolet Blazer, attempting to make a left hand turn onto Indian Road from Middle Road, with his signal on. Ms. Harrison failed to stop and ran into the back of Beaulieu’s vehicle with her 2004 Subaru Legacy. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Michaela L. Thibeault, 23, of Edgecomb. Ms. Thibeault was operating her 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound when a deer ran out from the west side and into the northbound lane, striking the driver’s side of her vehicle. Deputy John Braley was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 8, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving William Healey, 50, of Jefferson and Eric C. Petterson, of Greenville, South Carolina. Mr. Healey was operating his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado northbound when Mr. Petterson pulled his 1998 Buick Century out in front of him. Healey swerved to the right to avoid striking Petterson’s vehicle, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a ledge. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.

On Oct. 9, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving Alan B. Davis, 63, of Round Pond. Mr. Davis was operating his 2012 Toyota Yaris southbound and an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound. The unknown vehicle drifted over the center line and struck the rear driver’s side of Davis’ vehicle, causing damage to the rear driver’s side hub cap, as well as scratches to the rear driver’s side of his vehicle. The unknown vehicle did not stop at the scene. Deputy John Braley was the investigating officer.
