Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Thirteen accidents in seven days

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 334 calls for the period of Nov. 8 to Nov. 14, and year to date, LCSO has responded to 18,178 calls.

Summons

On Nov. 7, Jennifer Johansen, 30, of Richmond was issued a summons for Failure to Notify Owner of PD Accident, on Route 1, Edgecomb, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Arrests

On Nov. 8, Marcy R. Tilas, 43, of Nobleboro was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, on Palmer Hill Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

On Nov. 8, Troy J. Woodman, 35, of Warren was arrested on a Hancock County warrant for Failure to Appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Jared Mitkus.

Accidents

On Nov. 7, an accident occurred on Nobleboro Road involving Shayna L. Bartolotta, 21, of Bremen and Seamus M. Gilbert, 17, of Bremen. Ms. Bartolotta was operating her 2008 Dodge Avenger westbound and Mr. Gilbert was operating his 2010 Ford F-250, which was towing a trailer, eastbound. Both vehicles crested a blind hill at the same time and due to the roadway being very narrow at this location, both vehicles collided with each other. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 7, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Dwight L. Chamberlain, 59, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. Chamberlain was operating his 2009 Subaru Outback southbound when a deer ran out and struck the front of his vehicle. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 7, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Jennifer N. Johansen, 30, of Richmond and Christopher D. King, 34, of Woolwich. Mr. King had stopped his 2015 GMC Terrain in traffic for construction when Ms. Johansen struck his vehicle from behind with her 2005 Subaru Legacy. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 7, an accident occurred on South Clary Road in Jefferson involving Robert L. MacDonald, 54, of Wiscasset. Mr. MacDonald was operating a 2016 Chevrolet CLC ambulance northbound, enroute to a medical call, when a deer entered the roadway from the west side of the roadway and struck the vehicle in the driver’s side. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 8, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving David E. Melgard, 49, of Washington. Mr. Melgard was operating his 2010 Toyota Rav4 southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck his vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 8, an accident occurred on Washington Road in Jefferson involving Madison B. Allen, 17, of Jefferson. Ms. Allen was operating her 2010 Volkswagen Jetta southbound when a deer came from a wooded area and was struck. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 8, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Newcastle involving John T. Day, 80, of Jefferson. Mr. Day was entering a parking space in his 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer and hit the accelerator instead of the brake. As a result, his vehicle continued across a lawn and struck the unoccupied 1988 Volvo 740, owned by Katherine Cavalieri. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 8, an accident occurred on Head Tide Road in Whitefield involving Gail D. Brooke, 63, of Whitefield. Ms. Brooke was operating her 2015 Subaru Forester northbound when she observed a deer enter the roadway from the southbound ditch and struck it. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 9, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Ryan A. Herz, 42, of Thorndike and Kevin C. Brewer, 22, of Wiscasset. Mr. Herz was operating his 2006 Ford E450 northbound when a ladder which was attached to the passenger side of his vehicle hit a construction barrel, causing it to enter the northbound lane, where Mr. Brewer struck it with his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 10, an accident occurred on Washington Road in Jefferson involving Jesse J. Seward, 34, of Jefferson. Mr. Seward was operating his 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor westbound when he failed to negotiate a soft left turn.  As a result, his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a pole on the eastbound side of the roadway head on. The vehicle then rotated almost 180 degrees before coming to rest in an empty driveway, facing northbound. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 10, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Whitefield involving Laurie A. Lawrence, 51, of Pittston. Ms. Lawrence was operating her 2014 Ford Fiesta westbound when a deer ran out from the left side of the road and struck the front driver’s side of her vehicle. Deputy John Braley was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 13, an accident occurred on South Colby Road in Somerville involving Isaac Ladd, 29, of Somerville. Mr. Ladd was operating his 2000 GMC Yukon northbound when he failed to negotiate a soft right turn. His vehicle was heavily loaded with tools and he over corrected to recover from the skid, however, his vehicle crossed the center line and entered the wood line on the southbound side and struck a tree. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 13, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving Stephanie A. Gray, 50, of Jefferson. Ms. Gray was operating her 2006 Toyota Tacoma southbound, up a slight incline, when she lost control of her vehicle due to the snow and slush on the pavement. As a result, her vehicle spun around 180 degrees and went off the northbound side of the road, down over an embankment, where she struck a tree with the passenger side of her vehicle and came to rest, facing north. Deputy John Braley was the investigating officer.
