Lincoln G. Bailey, 81, a resident of Enfield for 32 years, died peacefully at Parkway Pavilion on August 25.

He was the beloved husband to Adele (Muise) Bailey and the son of the late Clarence and Gladys (Nason) Bailey of Wiscasset.

Lincoln was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Part of his military training involved a six-month project called the “Ice Skate Alpha Two” located at the North Pole.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church since 1984. He enjoyed his gardening and being a creative artist. Lincoln was very handy guy, always willing to lend a hand to anyone that asked; he would never accept any praise or thanks.

Besides his wife, Adele, formerly of Boothbay Harbor, Lincoln is survived by his daughter, Debra A. Ryals and her husband David of Pensacola, Fla.; his son, John L. Bailey and his wife Carole of Enfield; his sister, Thalia LeMay and her husband Louis of Oakland; one grandson, David Young of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lincoln was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Clarence and Clayton Bailey, and two sisters, Helen Fry and Mary Abbott.

The family wishes to express its gratitude for the care and compassion to the doctors and nursing staff at Johnson Memorial Medical Center and Parkway Pavilion Healthcare for Lincoln’s stay.

Visitation hours will be on Thursday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial will be in Scantic Cemetery, East Windsor.
