Linda Sibley Clark died peacefully on March 1, 2014 (the day after her 50th birthday) surrounded by loving family at her home, after a courageous and tenacious five-year battle with cancer.

She was born February 28, 1964 in Calais, the daughter of Loren Sibley and Patricia Beane Sibley. A graduate of Wiscasset High School with the class of 1982, after high school Linda went on to attend classes in music at the University of Maine at Augusta.

In her younger years Linda would wait tables at the Blue Ship restaurant, now Andrews’ Harborside, in the summer months and spend the winter months in Florida. A longtime and well-loved resident of Boothbay Harbor, she worked as a dental assistant for practices in the area, first with Dr. Bevins and then with Dr. Barker at Coastal Dental Arts.

She was always ambitious and always “seeing the glass as full.” She owned a successful cleaning business, “Leave it to Linda.” Next to her family the thing Linda loved the most was music. She was an accomplished vocalist and guitarist, and played a variety of different instruments for bands both locally and regionally. Linda was a multi-talented individual who loved to perform and felt at home on any stage.

Her family was very important to her and she loved nothing more than to spend time with them. Everyone looked forward to gathering at her home in Boothbay Harbor; she was a phenomenal cook and the house was filled with games, laughter and awesomeness. Linda enjoyed crafting, boating, and being outside, especially at camp. She had an infectious personality and a beautiful spirit that touched everyone she met. She embraced life’s joys as well as its challenges. She will be truly missed.

She was predeceased by her former husband, Bayard Clark.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Sibley, Kristin Sibley and Andrew Clark, all of Boothbay Harbor; father, Loren Sibley and beloved step-mother Dorothy of Bristol; mother, Patricia Sibley of Boothbay Harbor; sisters, Sherry Andrews of Hibbing, Minn., Lori Brewer and her husband Scott of Boothbay; brothers, Jay Sibley and his wife Sherba of Edgecomb, David Sibley of Dresden; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Brooks and Tina Clark of Buxton, and Cathryn and Michael Salmon of Gloucester, Mass.; nieces and nephews, TJ (Kristin) Renskers, Josh (Bernie) Renskers, Sibley Renskers, Shaylee Sibley, Katie Sibley, David-Alan Sibley, Lakin Brown, Earl Brewer III, Sarah Jo (Mark) Barter, Adam Brewer and Charlotte Salmon. She leaves two special lifelong friends, Bob Kohler, Kristin’s father, and Richard Latter, a treasured friend since childhood.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Boothbay Harbor Opera House with the Reverend Peter Panagore officiating. A celebration of life will follow at McSeagull’s Restaurant.
