Lost cat

    Dear Editor:

I was driving home from work one night and driving down Foye Road, where there is a path on both sides of the road where the power lines are. A gray and white cat ran across the street in front of me. I lost a gray and white cat and thought it might be mine. I put out a Havahart trap and caught him the next day. When I got him home, I knew he wasn’t my cat, but has a tremendous resemblance to mine. He had an old flea collar, but no ID collar.

I contacted the Edgecomb Shelter and they didn’t seem anxious to take him as they have a full case load. I then contacted Paws in the Door and they said they would take him and perform all the necessary tests. I asked them if they could place him in the True Value Hardware store as they find homes for kittens and cats, but if a local person lost him, they might check it out.

They haven’t picked him up yet, and I would keep him myself as he is a very lovable cat and has a voracious appetite, which may be because he had to forage for food for some time.

I have a miniature Australian shepherd and two cats (one male and one female) and he isn’t shy of my dog or my female cat, but is very aggressive toward my male cat and has attacked him on a few occasions. I have to keep them separated because my male is not aggressive and had scabs from altercations with him. I think he would be fine with a female cat or a dog, but not another male cat.

This letter is an attempt to notify anyone who has lost a gray and white male cat and this is a photo of him. If he belongs to someone out there, please call me at 207-882-7748.
