Marki J. Gay

Marki J. Gay, 26, of Woolwich died on Jan. 24, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a courageous battle with cystic fibrosis.

She was born in Augusta on Jan. 14, 1990, a daughter of Michael S. Gay Sr. and Kendra J. Robbins. She attended Wiscasset schools and Wiscasset High School. She also attended the University of Maine and cosmetology school. Marki did private home health care for many years.

She enjoyed designing, interior decorating, cosmetology and especially enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her niece and nephews. One of her major passions was to help make a difference with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

She was predeceased by her father, Michael Gay Sr., her brother, Dylan Gay on Nov. 10, 2009 and her daughter, Khalieya Genthner on March 6, 2014.

Marki is survived by her mother, Kendra J. Bailey of Woolwich; four brothers, Michael Gay of Winthrop, Myca Gagne of Woolwich, Ty Gay and his wife Sarah of Wiscasset and Kyle Kempf of Lisbon; two sisters, Tashley Gagne of Bath and Amber Gay of Augusta; her aunt, Sharon Kempf of Brunswick; one niece, Julia Marlowe; and two nephews, Nathan Marlowe and Landan Gay.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Middle Street, Bath. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 114 Perimeter Road, NH, 03063 or www.cff.org.
