Looking for an excuse to try one of our many great Midcoast Maine restaurants? When you buy a $20 ticket to Midcoast Conservancy’s Live Edge Music Festival, to be held on Aug. 20 at Hidden Valley Nature Center, you receive a voucher good for up to $20 on a second entrée at any of the 13 restaurants supporting the festival. Do good and feel good by having dinner at any of these fantastic places.

The Slipway in Thomaston, and its sibling Rhumb Line, in Camden, feature fresh, locally-sourced seafood. A recent addition to the dining scene, Salt Pine Social is serving up creative local fare in Bath; a great Brunswick option is Frontier Café, where you can catch an indie film after dinner if your timing is right. Slates, in Hallowell, offers grilled pizzas and organic salads; just down the street, Liberal Cup will find you the perfect craft beer to go with your pub meal. The A 1 Diner, in Gardiner, is housed in a classic silver dining car, with diner food classics to match.

If Damariscotta is your destination, the Damariscotta River Grill offers an original menu with something for everyone. Savory Maine features local, organic ingredients and plenty of vegan options too. Just across the bridge, in Newcastle, The Publick House smokes their pulled pork out back and has live music in its Oyster Lounge upstairs.

Rock Harbor Pub & Brewery in Rockland brews craft beers in-house, accompanied by delicious pub food; Cloud 9 in Augusta, is a certified Green Restaurant, with an eclectic menu. Montsweag Roadhouse is the perfect stop along Route 1 in Woolwich, offering burgers, salads, along with live music most nights.

Live Edge Music Festival will feature four Maine bands, along with local food and beer, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20. Tickets are available from Mexicali Blues, Sheepscot General Store and the Alna General Store.
