Milton S. Thompson

Milton “Mickey” Shawn Thompson, 42, of Chelsea died unexpectedly on September 22, 2013 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta.

Mickey was born on November 26, 1970 in Waterville, the son of Daniel L. Thompson I and Millie (Farrington) Thompson. Mickey graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1990 and went on to work for many years as a building contractor and carpenter, owning his own business, Mickey Thompson Builders. He was a hard worker and loved what he did.

Mickey enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter, loved motorcycling, snowmobiling, four wheeling and Jeeps. Above all he loved the time spent ice fishing with his son, Nick.

Mickey was competitive and loved to win; this led to his hobby of arm wrestling, where he was a champion, winning state and New England titles. He also loved the competition of the Mud Runs and racing. Mickey also enjoyed men’s league softball and loved baseball.

Mickey was a great father, son and brother. He was a giving man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He is loved by many.

Mickey was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, John Thompson Sr., and by his maternal grandfather, Milton “Mickey” Farrington.

He leaves behind his beloved son, Nicholas “Nick” Spiller; mother, Millie Thompson; father, Daniel Thompson I and companion Candy; brother, Dan Thompson II and companion Britney; paternal grandmother, Norma Thompson; maternal grandmother, Jane Farrington; aunts and uncles, Mindy and Barry Lee, Polly and Peter Boynton, Tanya Wallace, Jack and Barbie Thompson, and Cathy Wheeler; many cousins, nephews, great aunts and uncles, his sidekick, Ben, and many beloved friends.

A celebration of Mickey’s life will be held at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.
