When it comes to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, even the deputies on four legs are covered.

The Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor recently raised $2,000 to supply the Sheriff’s Office with two bulletproof vests for its dogs. The vests usually retail for approximately $1,000.

The fundraising started in September 2013 during the Hometown Heroes event. Debbie and Daren Graves of the Rotary club said all the thanks should go to the people of Wiscasset and the Boothbay region who donated.
