Nancy A. Williams, 76, died March 2, 2016, at her home in Plant City, Florida. She was with her husband of 58 years, Robert, by her side.

Nancy was born on July 28, 1939 to Burnard C. “Bart” Bartlett and Estella Mae Bartlett in Corea, Maine. She lived there until high school when she and her family moved to Boothbay Harbor, where she became active in many sports programs; she played basketball and softball.

She married Robert Williams, the love of her life and best friend, on January 11, 1958. She worked at numerous restaurants in Boothbay Harbor, until she and Robert purchased the Colonial Market and ran it for many years.

During her life in Boothbay Harbor, much of Nancy’s time was spent playing golf. She was a 19-time Boothbay Country Club champion. She assisted with Tri-State and won many times in the weekly tournaments, She also competed in the annual championship. She was also a member of SWGA and the Senior League, again, winning on many occasions.

She was an avid bowler and bowled for the women’s league at Romar Lanes in Boothbay Harbor. Bingo and slot machines also held a point of interest in Nancy’s life.

Nancy and Robert moved to Florida a few years ago to enjoy retirement. Just as she loved golf in Maine, in Florida, all she wanted to do was play. The Masters was her favorite PGA event and she was lucky enough, on a few occasions, to visit the practice rounds. She was instrumental in starting an annual golf cancer tournament in Plant City that raised money for the Susan G. Korman Cancer Fund.

Her love for her family (and lobster) brought her back to Boothbay each summer to visit.

Nancy is survived by: her husband, Robert; daughter, Sherri Brown of Boothbay; son, Danny and his wife Teresa of Boothbay; and daughter, Melissa and her partner Amy Palladino of Parrish, Florida; two brothers, Gerald Bartlett and Joe Bartlett; a sister, Alice Satow; six grandchildren, Daniel Williams and his wife Allison of Charlotte, North Carolina, Corey and his wife Courtney Williams of Davidson, North Carolina, Nichole Reynolds and her husband Dustin of Cornelius, North Carolina, Ashley Holloway and her husband Ben of Woolwich, Cody Brown of Newcastle, and Kelsey Brown of Boothbay; seven great-grandchildren, Macie Williams, Corey Williams, Corbin Reynolds, Lillian Brown, Camdyn Brown, Calvin Holloway and Delia Holloway.
